All New Jersey students applying for State financial aid must have a New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS) account. Ensuring the security of your information remains a top priority for HESAA. In Fall 2026, new and returning NJFAMS users will need to use multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access NJFAMS going forward. When creating or signing into your NJFAMS account for the first time following the implementation of MFA, you will be prompted to follow the steps to enable MFA before you can continue to the NJFAMS homepage. To access NJFAMS, click here.
After you create an NJFAMS account, be sure to log into your account and review your customized To Do List. If you have tasks to complete on your To Do List, you can find the forms you may need here. All required verification documents must be uploaded to your NJFAMS profile. For detailed instructions on how to upload required documents, click here.
It is important to meet all filing deadlines. If you are a new college student and applying for financial aid for the first time, you have one set of important dates. If you are a returning student and want to apply for renewal of state aid, you have to complete your application earlier.
