NJ Colleges

As you explore your postsecondary options, consider the benefits of continuing your education in New Jersey.  Our schools offer exceptional opportunities to attain a world-class education without leaving your home state.  New Jersey has more than 50 degree-granting colleges and universities, as well as many trade and technical schools.  Each is unique and special, and they provide many different courses of study to suit your needs.

Once you determine which schools interest you, be sure to write, phone, visit their web sites or take a campus tour.  With so many options available, you only need to decide which New Jersey school suits you best.

Two-Year County Colleges

• Grant an associate degree
• Provide specialized training that can be immediately applied to a job following graduation
• Prepare you for transfer to a four-year school where you can complete your bachelor's degree
• Primarily serve the residents of their respective counties
• If you live in a county without a community college or if your college doesn't offer the program you want, you can attend one of the other community colleges

Four-Year Colleges

• Grant a bachelor's degree - a few also have associate degree programs
• Many have graduate degree programs
• Generally offer a broad curriculum - unless the school specializes in a certain area of study, such as music.
